ABOUT THIS ROLE
The Director, Strategy & Corporate Development will be a core member of this highly visible team that provides strategic and financial advice to Audible\'s CEO and our executive leadership.

ABOUT THE TEAM
Audible\'s Strategy & Corporate Development Team identifies, designs, and executes new organic growth strategies drawing on media and technology trends and the competitive landscape. We then source, negotiate, structure, and close strategic partnerships, direct investments, joint ventures, and acquisitions to accelerate these plans. We work closely with Amazon\'s investment funds and the company\'s other media & entertainment and digital business units (including Prime Video, Music, Games, Wondery, Twitch, Studios/MGM, and Alexa/Amazon.com) to think holistically on behalf of our customers.

ABOUT YOU
You have strong experience and capabilities in providing strategic and financial advice as well as executive presence. You are passionate about using data to help drive informed decisions and able to express your work in both written and spreadsheet form. You\'re an analytical and creative thinker, with the ability to ask the right questions and develop a point of view that will influence decisions and drive Audible\'s continued success. You have strong knowledge of the media & entertainment and consumer technology industries, corporate strategy, and the inseparable bond between organic and inorganic growth. You are a transformer who is passionate about figuring out what the future looks like, with a relentless focus on creating and improving customer value. You have a demonstrated track record of analyzing, leading due diligence, structuring, and closing M&A transactions, investments, and complex commercial partnerships.

As a Director of Strategy & Corporate Development, you will...

  • Build cohesive strategic plans to accomplish business objectives, identify specific areas of opportunity through quantitative and qualitative analysis, and formulate goals and milestones that will enable us to achieve those objectives
  • Draft recommendations using a combination of Excel, PowerPoint and the PR/FAQ format based on input from content, product, marketing, finance, analytics, and technology leadership teams
  • Lead inorganic growth efforts by partnering with finance, legal, Amazon Corp Dev, and Audible executives
  • Be a strategic advisor for senior leadership across the organization on build/buy/partner opportunities
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives, leading by influence and without direct authority
  • Actively provide an \xe2\x80\x9coutside-in\xe2\x80\x9d perspective and recommend strategic priorities based on competitive and consumer intelligence
  • Support the executive team designing our annual operating plan (OP1)

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of experience in a combination of digital media and investment banking, private equity/venture capital, management consulting, or equivalent fields
  • Past transactional leadership experience working directly with the C-suite on a regular basis
  • Quantitative background with direct transactional modeling and analysis experience
  • Experience using quantitative data and metrics to communicate ideas
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Math, or related fields
  • Experience in the digital media content landscape, particularly audio
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Self-starter attitude with strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to build relationships and work seamlessly with a variety of personalities and functional disciplines
  • Proven ability to track, prioritize, and drive multiple concurrent projects to success
  • Exceptional communication skills (both written and verbal); can succinctly and clearly communicate, and able to produce documents and presentations that are ready for leadership review
  • Global, transactional leadership experience in the digital media space as both a strategic and financial buyer/investor
  • Professional services experience as a senior associate/manager/vice president or team-level contributor at a top tier firm
  • Superior writing skills to communicate complex ideas simply and advocate for recommended decisions
  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree
