About the Role





The Director, Social & Content Strategy reports to the Executive Director, Consumer, Paid, Owned, Earned and leads the development, execution, and optimization of the brand's organic social strategy. This role manages a team of two direct reports and partners closely with in-house creative, creative agency partners and cross-functional teams to deliver engaging, innovative, and brand-relevant content and to boost high-performing content across priority channels.



The Director is responsible for driving awareness and engagement for Laura Mercier and Bare minerals, balancing a very strong understanding of our consumers, brands and social platforms. This role helps drive understanding of where our brands intersect with culture and with an understanding of how to reach our consumer at the right time and with a relevant message. They build the global social strategy and content calendar with a strong emphasis on the US and how to optimize the halo across key markets, ensuring alignment with brand



KPIs. They leverage social analytics and performance insights to inform strategic decisions, optimize content, and provide actionable recommendations to elevate the brand's presence.



This role requires a unique combination of strategic vision, creative expertise, and analytical acumen, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively across technical, creative, and business teams to bring compelling brand stories to life.


Primary Responsibilities




Lead the planning, maintenance, and execution of the social content calendar, ensuring alignment with brand marketing calendar, influencer activations, product priorities, and channel-specific needs, including e-commerce tagging, event support, and promotions. Develop and direct content strategy and development plans for all owned channels, in collaboration with the Executive Director, Consumer (Paid, Owned, Earned), Creative, and agency partners. Partner with Creative to establish an in-house social studio. Develop concepts with strong brand fit, driving quick approvals pre-shoot to build agility and increase the cadence across priority social channels. Oversee social content creative briefings, driving innovation and creative ideas while ensuring alignment with Brand Book, market insights, and competitive activity. Oversee the brand's community engagement strategy, guiding the team in fostering participation, responding to comments, and building meaningful connections across priority social channels. Continually evaluate and optimize social content, making data-driven recommendations to improve KPIs and program goals. Guide ad-hoc content creation in response to trending conversations, competitive activity, retailer requests, and PR initiatives. Oversee community comment management, ensuring timely and appropriate responses or escalations to relevant departments. Direct the analysis and reporting of social media performance, including daily metrics, monthly reviews, and actionable insights to inform short- and long-term content strategies. Approve UGC content usage across social and e-commerce channels and identify opportunities to leverage community content. Stay current on social media trends, emerging platforms, language, and competitive activity, ensuring the brand maintains best-in-class performance across all channels. Oversee preparation for social content shoots, including reviewing master shot lists against the content calendar and coordinating product shipments. Mentor and develop direct reports, fostering a high-performing, innovative, and collaborative social and content team. Share social content calendar monthly with key counterparts across global, North America Marketing execution and Digital, driving strategy and collaborating on executional opportunities.

Qualifications




8+ years of experience in social media and content strategy with 2 years in a leadership role. Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing social and content teams. Strong understanding of social media trends, platform nuances, community management, and content optimization strategies. Demonstrated experience integrating social content with broader marketing campaigns, influencer partnerships, and brand strategy. Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze performance metrics and translate insights into actionable recommendations. Excellent communication, collaboration, and cross-functional leadership skills. Experience in beauty, fashion, or consumer lifestyle brands and/or working directly with macro-influencers to build content strongly preferred. Creative problem solver, thrive in fast-paced environment, prioritize and oversee multiple projects at once Team player with strong interpersonal skills - a self-described "people-person," comfortable speaking with all levels of an organization

Pay Transparency - One of our values is Stark Honesty and the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. The range for this opportunity is: $126,000 $180,000. At Orveon Global, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary.
