About the Role: We're looking for a Director, Scientific Communications on the Medical Strategy and Communications team to help us expand what's possible for patients with serious diseases. Reporting to the Head of Scientific Communications & Publications, you'll lead the development and implementation of global Medical Communications Strategy across regions. You will have high visibility within the medical organization and requires the ability to lead cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization. A core responsibility will be to co-lead the development and maintenance of scientific platforms and the strategic execution of aligned scientific communications deliverables to ensure a global approach that accurately and consistently communicates about Insmed disease areas of interest and Insmed generated data. You will develop collaborative partnerships with the cross-functional Insmed team (Medical Affairs, HEOR, Clinical Development, Advocacy, Commercial and Market Access) as well as external medical experts and will have an integral role in driving the planning and execution of scientific communications deliverables across the assigned therapeutic area(s), including field medical tools and resources and sponsored medical education that through an omni-channel approach. What You'll Do: In this role, you'll have the opportunity to: Co-lead the development and maintenance of Scientific Platforms, Scientific Narrative Lexicon, and the Insmed Medical Communications plan for the assigned therapeutic area(s) and product(s) (pulmonology/infectious disease). Lead the creation and execution of the global medical communication strategy and education plan, including congress strategy, symposia, field medical tools and resources for HCPs and payers, medical backgrounders and other scientific programs that communicate important information to the medical and scientific community, including identification and prioritization of regional and local education needs. Review scientific materials (e.g. slide presentations for content and positioning) and represent content during medical, legal, and regulatory review. With Medical Excellence, lead training of Medical Affairs teams on new materials and upcoming educational activities. Ensure delivery of high-quality, fair-balanced, scientifically/clinically accurate medical communications deliverables in accordance with established timelines, compliance guidelines/policies, and budgets. Ensure deliverables are in alignment with business strategy, medical affairs strategy, and Insmed clinical development programs. Manage external vendors/medical agencies assisting with medical content planning and execution. Who You Are: You have a Master's degree in a scientific discipline, with an advanced degree preferred (PhD, PharmD, or MD). You also have: 5+ years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry, primarily in Medical Affairs publications function is required. Expert knowledge of relevant guidance including, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) guidelines, CME Open Payments reporting. 5+ years experience and demonstrated success in design and implementation of Medical Communication Strategies including oversight to gap analyses, congress strategies, scientific content development, digital asset generation, and scientific platform development and maintenance. Expertise in the assessment and the application of scientific/clinical data to strategy with pull through to externally facing deliverables. Ability to interpret and organize highly complex scientific data including reviewing pre-clinical and clinical trial data and output from statistical analyses. Demonstrated experience in leadership role in designing scientific communications strategy in alignment with corporate strategy. Experience working closely with external experts; Ability to manage external vendors and provide clear, concise direction. Demonstrated experience managing competing priorities and tight deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to understand and effectively communicate complex scientific and clinical data to internal and external stakeholders. Nice to have (but not required) Experience in pulmonology or infectious disease Prior pre-launch/ launch experience Where You'll Work This is a fully remote role. It can be performed effectively from anywhere while staying connected to your Insmed team and community. Occasional travel for team meetings or events will be expected. Travel Requirements This role requires occasional domestic/international travel (approximately 15%).
