QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates must be NH Certified as a Special Education Administrator or meet eligibility requirements for the Alternative 4 process with the NH Department of Education. Candidates for this position must have a Master's degree in special education or a related field with five years teaching and/or administrative experience that demonstrates knowledge of current federal and state regulations regarding special education. The successful candidate will be able to develop, implement, coordinate and supervise special education programs and staff for approximately 2000 students. Exceptional interpersonal skills to respond to parents and advocacy groups. Effective management, collaborative and problem solving skills to refine and enhance programs and services for students with disabilities. Proficiency in technology, oral and written communications is required. Experience as a special education administrator is strongly preferred.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Nashua School District seeks an enthusiastic, energetic, and experienced administrator who will help to collaborate with district leadership to provide guidance to a team of special education administrators, principals, teachers and special education staff in the implementation of district-wide special education services. Oversee and direct the allocation of special education staff and resources to schools in compliance with state standards, student needs and budgetary confines. Keep abreast of federal and state mandates; implement changes to keep compliance. Develop and manage the budget for special education services, coordinate the implementation of federal and state grants.
