We are looking for a Director/Senior Manager to Run our Quality Department. This person should be within commute distance to one of our manufacturing plants: Detroit Metro Area, Jackson Michigan, Butler Pennsylvania, or Tullahoma Tennessee.

We are looking for an out of the box thinker who will be able to apply the appropriate quality standards, customer requirements, statistical techniques and auditing requirements to develop, implement and manage the quality systems for all resins manufacturing facilities and all suppliers. We need a leader who can apply appropriate best practices and customer requirements while understanding the costs associated with compliance to balance quality with business goals. This role\'s ultimate objective will be to design and implement a cost effective corporate sustainability process, while developing and managing the metrics required to measure performance as applicable.

Major Accountabilities:

  • Develop, implement and manage activities required to certify, maintain and continually improve QMS for JSP resins and molding. This includes serving as company Management Representative for ISO 9001, scheduling of second / third party audits, conducting management reviews and coordinating the required corrective action responses. Develop and revise quality procedures and quality related work instructions as needed for all locations. Maintain the appropriate Business Process Metrics Tracking and make recommendations for continuous improvement based on various analyses. Develop and provide QMS training as required.
  • Develop, implement and manage a Corporate Sustainability program that complies with customer and corporate requirements both regionally and globally. This includes generating required document and reports, completing customer surveys, developing and monitoring the metrics required to verify the system is functioning as intended and passing down the requirements to JSP suppliers as appropriate.
  • Manage QMS internal audit systems for ISO 9001 certified JSP Resins facilities. Perform lead auditor functions as required. Evaluate and approve the internal corrective action responses. Provide QMS and core tool training for all internal auditors at all locations. Evaluate internal auditors as required.
  • Develop, implement and manage the JSP Supplier Quality Management system that complies with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 standards. This includes pre-qualification, 2nd party auditing and performance rating of suppliers as well as maintaining JSP Supplier Quality Assurance Manual, Supplier Scorecards, etc. Manage the Supplier and Customer Corrective Action Request processes, including review and approval of corrective actions and verification activities. Review and approve supplier PPAP\'s, including performing Run at Rates as required. Facilitate, manage and track launch activities (APQP) for new components.
  • Facilitate daily exception meeting, leading the appropriate plant team in analyzing the data and making required changes/adjustments in a timely manner.
  • Manage and coordinate incoming inspection for all required components and raw materials, including containment of incoming product, as well as JSP\'s work-in-process and final goods inventories associated to the component or materials. This will include providing disposition of the product.
  • Manage control plans and PFMEA\'s for each resins facility
  • All other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor or designee.
  • Depending on work location this position will on occasion require work weeks in excess of 40 hours and travel to customer locations, other JSP facilities, or supplier locations.

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree with a minimum of 2 years quality related experience; or Associates degree with 4 years of quality related experience; or a minimum of 5 years of quality related experience.
  • 3 to 5 years\' experience in a manufacturing environment with knowledge of quality systems requirements
  • Knowledge of ISO and IATF requirements, including core tools (FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA) and Customer Sustainability requirements.
  • 2+ years working in a registered manufacturing facility.
  • Mathematical and statistical problem solving skills
  • 2+ years of experience utilizing problem solving
  • Working knowledge of computers including word processing, spreadsheets and databases.
  • 3+ years with demonstrated ability using software package as an advanced user
  • Ability to communicate effectively, make presentations and write concise reports for all levels of employees.
  • 3+ years working in automotive manufacturing facility.
  • Proficient auditing skills
  • 2+ years\' experience as lead auditor
  • Leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership to mentor and coach
  • Problem solving skills, such as 8D
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems through to implementation and verification
