The Director of Payment Integrity, Program Management is responsible for managing the successful delivery of transformative blue chips initiatives that advance the organizational strategy to streamline operations, enable technology, improve provider experience, and retain our right to audit in support of UHC Payment Integrity, Operations and Experience. The Director is responsible for the strategy, project planning, implementation plans and oversight of all operational processes and protocols to support transformed operations.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic roadmaps to achieve Payment Integrity and enterprise business goals
  • Engage cross-functional business teams to identify key issues, gaps, strategic needs, and priorities
  • Influence executive leadership through compelling presentations that communicate strategy, risks, plans, and successes
  • Oversee deployment of business process improvement and design initiatives, ensuring operational readiness and alignment across workstreams
  • Anticipate and manage downstream impacts of new processes; adjust strategies to maintain business alignment
  • Coordinate with Product, Technology, Operations and vendors to ensure deliverables meet business objectives and align with long-term transformational goals
  • Manage a small team of analysts and project managers, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Create and maintain reporting dashboards; conduct analysis and quality audits to ensure confidence in deliverables and accurate performance forecasting
  • Provide transparent communication and program updates through status reporting and Steering Committees
  • Facilitate and lead cross-program workgroups to design and deploy process improvements, including strategy, requirements, and planning
  • Assess impacts, risks, and cost/benefit of proposed changes; recommend actions to mitigate roadblocks and ensure successful deployment

Required Qualifications:
  • 5+ years combined experience across Payment Integrity, Revenue Cycle Management, Encounter/Claims Processing, and/or Provider Network
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience
  • 5+ years managing operational changes within the end-to-end claim lifecycle, including assessing upcoming changes and their impact, developing, and executing readiness plans and ensuring smooth transition to steady-state operations post-deployment
  • 3+ years proven project, capability or program management experience successfully managing one or more major projects which integrate with multiple business areas or systems
  • 3+ years partnering with technologist in support of Agile Technology delivery from requirements to deployment
  • Expert ability to analyze business process information (e.g., metrics; analytics) to identify key issues, trends, and potential root causes (e.g., training issues; lack of understanding by user community)
  • Exemplary ability to diagnose process opportunities and develop solutions, high problem-solving capability
  • Advanced user experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Visio)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • PMP, Six Sigma or other certification programs
  • Proven experience with project management software such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of claims platforms
  • Proven history of successful process improvement with tangible results

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
