Associates' degree in business, healthcare administration, accounting or related field or equivalent experience required. Bachelor degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing, patient accounts or healthcare financial services required.
Working knowledge of healthcare billing, coding and reimbursement processes.
Familiarity with payer requirements, claim submission processes and denial management.
Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital/clinic workflows.
Coursework or certification in medical billing and coding, healthcare finance, or revenue cycle management desirable.
Customer service or patient-facing financial counseling experience beneficial.
Work Hours
We are seeking full-time (40 hours/week) Director of Patient Financial Services to work Monday-Friday.
Job Summary
This leadership position is responsible for the oversight and strategic direction of the patient financial services team. This role supports staff and workflows associated with patient billing, patient financial counseling and payment posting. This role works in conjunction with the other revenue cycle departments to ensure billing integrity.
