Butte Fence is seeking a Director of Operations to lead our operations team in Meridian, ID. This role is responsible for ensuring the success of all fencing projects by overseeing purchasing, inventory management, scheduling, installation, and quality assurance. The Director of Operations will provide strategic leadership, drive operational excellence, and ensure alignment with company goals and values.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy, Planning & Analysis
Participate in weekly, quarterly, and annual leadership (L-10) meetings.
Design and improve systems and workspaces to support operational efficiency.
Facilitate L-10 meetings for the operations department and contribute to company-wide planning.
Operations Oversight
Lead, manage, and hold accountable (LMA) the production, installation, warranty, and inventory department managers.
Ensure department goals align with the company's Vision/Traction Organizer (VTO), quarterly Rocks, and annual objectives.
Develop and maintain department standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Train and mentor operations managers on Butte Fence systems, processes, and safety protocols.
Lead weekly operations meetings to review performance and address challenges.
Talent Management
Support recruiting, interviewing, and hiring for all operations departments.
Promote professional development through coaching, mentoring, and training.
Assist the Installation Manager in sourcing and onboarding subcontractors.
Cross-Department Collaboration
Foster a positive, team-oriented culture and promote collaboration across departments.
Partner with the Sales Manager on proposals, timelines, and installation cost planning for new and existing products.
Provide product training and create CAD drawings for new product implementation.
Qualifications
Proven experience managing teams in an operations, manufacturing, or construction environment.
Strong leadership, planning, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities.
Understanding of procurement, cost of goods (COG), project costing, and profitability.
Proficient in operational analysis, software tools, and systems development.
Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, growing company.
Work Environment & Requirements
Combination of office, production floor, and occasional job site work.
Ability to work extended hours or weekends as needed for project demands.
Lead year-end inventory processes in both Meridian and Twin Falls locations.
Occasional travel may be required.
