Apple Tree Autism is seeking a strategic, experienced, and mission-driven
Director of Operations
to lead and oversee the daily operations of our center-based ABA clinic. This role acts as the
owner's executive partner
, ensuring that every part of the clinic--clinical services, staff performance, parent communication, compliance, and culture--operates at the highest level.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in behavioral health, ABA, or developmental disabilities, combined with proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary teams. This position requires strong organizational skills, operational excellence, data-driven decision making, and the ability to maintain a calm, solution-focused presence during challenges.

responsible for directing staff, improving systems, supporting families, maintaining compliance, and driving the long-term success of Apple Tree Autism.
to ensure efficient service delivery
Act as the onsite executive authority for all staff, families, and operational concerns
Lead all departments: BCBAs, RBTs/Technicians, administrative staff and compliance
Optimize workflows, staffing, and resource allocation across the clinic
Implement new systems, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and quality
Conduct weekly leadership meetings and regular team communication
2. Staff Management, Culture & Accountability
Build and maintain a positive, high-performance team culture
Directly supervise clinical and administrative staff, including performance reviews
Manage staff disciplinary actions, written warnings, and corrective plans
Assist in recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of staff
Lead training initiatives in ABA fundamentals, professionalism, and operational protocols
Ensure staff meet expectations: attendance, timeliness, session quality, and professionalism
3. Client & Family Support
Oversee client intake, assessment coordination, insurance verification, and onboarding
Support families with concerns, communication, and case-related questions
Partner with BCBAs to ensure treatment plans and parent goals are followed
Oversee parent training requirements (EIDBI monthly hours)
Maintain exceptional customer service and a trustworthy clinic environment
4. De-Escalation & Crisis Response
Serve as primary contact for behavioral escalations, parent conflicts, and staff issues
Manage crisis situations using calm, clear, solution-oriented leadership
Ensure accurate incident documentation and follow-up
Maintain a safe environment for clients, staff, and families
5. Documentation, Quality Control & Compliance
Oversee clinical documentation, service notes, and adherence to timelines
Maintain strict HIPAA compliance across all systems and staff
Ensure EIDBI, DHS, and OSHA standards are consistently met
Audit data, notes, and treatment progress to ensure quality and compliance
Lead the center through any audits, inspections, or corrective actions
6. Strategic Growth & Operational Improvement
Work closely with the owner on strategic goals, KPIs, and expansion plans
Analyze trends, data, and operational metrics to recommend improvements
Develop scalable systems as the clinic grows in size
Serve as a thought partner on long-term planning, staffing models, and quality initiatives
RequirementsRequired
Experience in ABA, behavioral therapy, mental health, or developmental disabilities
Strong leadership experience managing clinical or healthcare teams
Deep understanding of HIPAA, medical documentation, and behavioral health compliance
Proven ability to handle escalations, staff issues, and parent communication
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage fast-paced environments and make quick decisions
Strong emotional intelligence and compassion toward clients and families
Preferred
Experience as an Operations Manager, Clinic Director, Program Manager, or similar role
Familiarity with EIDBI requirements, and ABA workflows
Background in special education, psychology, healthcare administration, or related fields
Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a clinical setting
