Job Description

FUNCTION:

Direct the operations of the Engineering department on a 24-hour basis, ensuring completion of the daily assignment log.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise subordinate personnel in the maintenance, repair, and modification of the property. Manage assigned operational functions consistent with the strategic plan and vision for the department, and the Nugget. Manage the delivery and measurement of guest service consistent with the company's service standards and brand attributes. Provide input into the research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology, and processes to ensure a competitive position within the industry, and in anticipation of changing guest needs within the dynamic hospitality environment. Manage Human Resources responsibilities to include creating a work environment that promotes teamwork, performance feedback, recognition, mutual respect, and employee satisfaction; quality hiring, training and succession planning processes that encompass the company's diversity commitment and compliance with company policies. Review, plan, and coordinate all job assignments, set work priorities, make cost-effective assignment decisions, and ensure the completion of projects in a timely, efficient, and effective manner. Always enforce and maintain superior engineering standards. Prepare annual preventative maintenance schedules to ensure all property systems and equipment are serviced that reflect and efficient and cost-effective approach to property and systems management. Ensure adequate staffing for timely completion of facility projects and maintenance duties. Perform manpower efficiency studies and determine future equipment and supply requirements Assist the Director of Facilities with developing feasibility studies to include detailed analysis of material costs and man-hour requirements. Make facility cost saving recommendations when appropriate. Oversee and track inventory and necessary ordering. Perform all other job-related duties as requested Establish and maintain effective channels of communication with all levels of the Nugget team and guests. Using the Nugget's system of recognition, recognize team members who are going "above and beyond" as appropriate Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations. Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike. Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager. Maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same. Regular predictable attendance is required. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 21 years of age.
Work schedule must be flexible to include nights, weekends, holidays, and special events.

EDUCATION LEVEL:


====================


Degree in Facilities Management, Facilities Engineering or related qualification such as project management, business management or construction management required.

LANGUAGE:


=============


Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language.

EXPERIENCE:


===============


Minimum 5 years' experience in a major hotel resort with similar capacity.
Minimum 3 years of previous experience in senior management level position with strong engineering and maintenance background within a major hotel/casino engineering operation.

SPECIAL SKILLS:


===================


Advanced knowledge of OSHA General Industry Standards and Regulations.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office including, Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point and Visio. Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, cooling towers, pump systems, and domestic water systems.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:


==========================


Valid Nevada driver's license and clean 3-year DMV record required. OSHA 10 Certification required
CPO Certification preferred EPA Certification required

Ability to walk, stand, or sit for extended periods of time. Ability to lift, and move product up to 80 lbs.
Fine finger manipulation.
Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.
Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.
Lifting, bending, climbing are essential duties of the position.
