Job Description

This leadership position is responsible for providing strategic direction, management, and execution of environmental and permitting programs across the company's operations and to ensure compliance at all levels while proactively promoting ESG opportunities aligned with our organizational priorities.



Responsibilities:





Environmental Leadership


Ensure a compliant environmental management system is in place and the timely submission of environmental data and/or reports to regulators and the public in accordance with local and national regulations occurs. Serve as a leader, mentor, and supervisor for assigned direct reports. Develop and manage environmental budgets and financial assurance programs. Provide oversight and guidance in environmental incident reporting including investigation and corrective action follow up. Support ESG integration, sustainability initiatives, and closure/reclamation planning



Permitting


Conduct comprehensive reviews of project plans and specifications to identify and address permitting constraints and compliance issues. Supervise preparation and submission of permit applications and environmental assessments. Liaise with regulatory agencies and stakeholders, including EPA, BLM, and state authorities.



Organizational Support:


Manage cross-functional resources toward environmental goals and project completion. Engage and share industry trends and best practices, updated legal requirements, and drive changes, as needed, to the applicable policies and procedures. Adheres to, supports, and enforces all company safety and environmental rules, policies, and procedures. Complete all required safety, process, equipment, or related trainings by deadlines.



Bachelors degree or higher in Environmental Science, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Eight or more years of relevant experience. + Four more years of overall experience in construction, well operations, power generating and/or a processing/refining facility (or similar) preferred.
Demonstrated expertise in navigating complex regulatory processes and requirements with a strong understanding of environmental and land use regulations, permitting standards, and compliance obligations. Experience with Federal and Utah, California and Nevada permitting and regulatory agencies. Experience with permitting and compliance under the Clean Water Act (CWA) and Clean Air Act (CAA). Experience in recognition and abatement of environmental hazards in the completion of typical plant site production work. Experience leading cross-functional teams and/or external consultants. Valid drivers license and acceptable motor vehicle record. Ability to complete domestic travel, up to 15%, to support plant and overall business needs. Ability to manage projects including the forecast and prioritization of tasks while managing multiple deadlines. High level of integrity, strong work ethic, good judgment and problem-solving skills. Comfortable delegating work assignments, gives authority to work independently, sets expectations and monitors delegated activities. Inspires and motivates others to perform well, accepts feedback from others. Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to use hands to operate computer and other related equipment or utilize tools. Ability to move about all areas within the office or plant site, including elevated areas
