Qualifications oMust have, as a minimum, two (2) years experience in a maintenance position. oNursing home experience required. oHVAC certification strongly preferred. oMust be knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems.
Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints. oMust be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations. oMust be licensed in accordance with current applicable standards, codes, labor laws, etc. oMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action. Responsibilities oPlan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Maintenance Department, its programs and activities. oDevelop and maintain written maintenance policies and procedures. oAssist the maintenance staff in the development and use of departmental policies, procedures, equipment, supplies, etc.
* Review the department's policies, procedure manuals, job descriptions, etc., at least annually for revisions and make recommendations to the Administrator. oCoordinate maintenance services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, Activities, etc.). oMake written oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary/required concerning the operation of the Maintenance Department. oAssist in establishing a preventive maintenance program.
