Job Summary:

The Director of Engineering will lead, design, supervise engineering projects, teams, and clients throughout Arkansas and other parts of the United States. The project type can be wide ranging but often focuses on water, wastewater, stormwater, and other environmental aspects in the private industrial and municipal sectors of engineering and construction. To be successful in this role, the Director of Engineering will need to expeditiously provide oversight and direction to all designs produced by the Engineering team. This position will serve as the companies Principal Engineer in Charge, reporting to the Vice President and President.

Location:

The job tasks rely on in-office leadership and collaboration with other engineers, designers, and construction teams. TOLM s office locations are in Northwest Arkansas and Morrilton, AR. Either location can be the engineer s main office.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Plans, leads, and coordinates the work activity of internal/external engineering staff.
• Oversees engineering staff and ensures that they meet goals and objectives.
• Recruits additional engineering staff as needed.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Provides training and mentoring as needed.
• Supervision of external and internal TOLM engineering resources.

• Consults with and provides guidance to project stakeholders and managerial staff regarding engineering requirements for construction of various designs, modifications, and structural repairs.
• Plans projects based on the analysis of relevant materials using drawings, aerial photography, survey reports, maps, and other geologic and topographical data.
• Uses design software and drawing tools to accurately render and communicate designs; plans and designs other necessary and related systems and structures such as transportation or hydraulics.
• Drafts and presents reports on topics related to projects such as environmental impact statements and right-of-way descriptions.
• Oversees progress and timeliness of projects.
• Reviews project reports to ensure projects are on schedule and within budget.
• Performs other related duties as required.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Proficient in computer-assisted design (CAD) and other design, data recording, and analyzation software.

• Bachelor s degree in Engineering required.
• Licensure as professional engineer (PE) required in Arkansas/and or other surrounding states. PE registrations are required with the ability to quickly obtain additional state licensures as required.
• At least ten (10) years of related experience required.
