Summary

Delta Oaks Group is seeking an individual to manage Civil Engineering and A&E services in the telecommunications vertical. Positional responsibilities, further detailed below, include but are not limited to the oversight of various technical evaluations, department staff, project management, quality control, client management, and department profit and loss. This position will require a minimum of eight (8) years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in the A&E/Civil Engineering field, demonstrating practice in the telecommunications market. Career experience associated with the management of the holistic \xe2\x80\x9cfront-end\xe2\x80\x9d design process, including but not limited to site acquisition (planning and zoning), environmental, geotechnical, and civil-site design are desired. Additionally, experience with general electrical and grounding design typically associated with telecommunication structures/buildings/small commercial applications is desired.

Positional Responsibilities

The Director \xe2\x80\x93 A&E/Civil Engineering coordinates and supervises the life cycle of all department projects from inception through completion, including all aspects of design, project management, and client management. This position will oversee a team of design engineers and/or CAD technicians and will be asked to assist in department growth through hiring/talent acquisition. This position is further responsible for coordinating with management to develop technical and operational approaches for the efficient completion of project and department tasks (including CAD standards and templates), implementing these procedures, and ensuring all associated project and department production goals (schedule and quality) are realized.

Acting independently with little supervision, the selected individual will be expected to apply strong analytical, design, program management, and client collaboration skills to complete turn-key services focused primarily in the telecommunications market. Anticipated tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Project Scoping / Fee Estimation / Proposal Preparation
  • Management / Coordination of all phases of turnkey Civil Engineering/A&E projects
  • Design and/or Review of telecommunication A&E related services including rawland, amendment, and collocation telecommunication sites
  • Assist with the development of standard design guidelines, operating procedures, CAD protocols, and quality control practices for civil engineering and A&E projects
  • QA/QC of Final Deliverables - evaluate and review civil engineering/A&E designs for constructability, feasibility, accuracy and cost efficiency
  • Project and Program Management
  • Personnel Management and Oversight

  • Client Interaction / Coordination / Management
The selected individual will be expected to have a thorough understanding of turnkey A&E/Civil Engineering services, including technical, managerial, and support service aspects of successful product delivery. Due to the nature and limited timelines of most projects, the selected candidate should be willing and capable of exhibiting the work ethic and social ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment where timely communication with co-workers, clients and strategic partners is paramount.

Knowledge and Skills Required
  • Experience with computer drafting software (AutoCAD) is required
  • Experience with site development and zoning requirements typical of the telecommunications industry is required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word is required
  • Experience managing A&E/Civil Engineering projects on a holistic basis, from conception through completion, is required
  • Working knowledge and thorough familiarity with codes and standards relating to telecommunication structures, including TIA/EIA-222 requirements is desired
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge of basic electrical and grounding principles is required
  • Experience with grading, earthwork, stormwater, and erosion control practices is desired
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with contractors, clients or their representatives, jurisdictional officials and other engineering vendors
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain client and strategic partner relationships

Educational Requirements
With Bachelor of Science Degree, design experience amounting to a minimum of eight (8) years of practice; with other educational qualifications, design experience amounting to a minimum of ten (10) years of practice. Experience shall be demonstrated in the areas of A&E telecommunications design (or similar infrastructure), project management, and program management.

Travel
Some travel will be required for this position.
