. Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Human Resources leadership team in the role of Director - Human Resources, South Region.


The Director - Human Resources, South Region leads and manages the delivery of comprehensive HR support to regional/area leaders and team members. This leader designs, develops, and implements recruiting, employee relations, performance management, and basic compensation and benefits processes. The Director partners with leaders to design and execute best practice recruiting strategies, and coaches direct reports as they conduct workforce planning analysis to ensure the right recruiting strategies are in place and being executed effectively. The leader coaches direct reports as they work with leaders to address employee relations and performance issues and leads the planning and implementation of system wide HR projects or initiatives such as annual performance reviews, employee engagement, succession planning, and career development. This Director serves as a first line point of contact for senior leadership and addresses high priority, sensitive issues as needed.

Reports to: Vice President - Chief Human Resources Officer

Candidate Qualifications




Candidates for the position will be evaluated according to the following criteria and competencies.

Bachelor's Degree Required or equivalent years of experience. Master's Preferred. Requires 7-10 years of relevant Human Resources experience. Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience required. Professional certifications such as SPHR, etc. preferred. Requires experience in leading the design, development, and execution of human resource programs. Requires in-depth knowledge and understanding of several functional areas of Human Resources. Requires experience leading and implementing sourcing and recruiting best practices. Requires experience with matrix organization and complex work environment. Requires experience handling highly complex, challenging situations requiring exemplary professional judgment and diplomacy. Requires experience coaching and developing all levels of professionals. Able to guide the application of HR related regulations and laws (e.g. ; FLSA; COBRA; ADA; FMLA; etc.). Requires basic proficiency in MS office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
