Position Summary

The STERIS Global Information Technology Organization is growing. The Voice of Customer Director, Enterprise Architect proactively and holistically leads enterprise responses to disruptive forces by identifying and analyzing the execution of change toward the desired business vision and targeted outcomes, under the general direction of the Chief Enterprise Architect. This position is responsible for taking a practical approach to supporting the business. This starts and ends with a focus on delivering signature-ready, actionable recommendations to business leaders, so they can adjust policies and projects to achieve target business outcomes.

The Voice of Customer Director, Enterprise Architect leads significant portions of the Enterprise Architecture program, as assigned by the Chief Enterprise Architect, and its efforts to develop, maintain and govern the enterprise architecture across the organization. You will be responsible for cultivating relationships with key business leaders inside of STERIS, defining the EA process and architecture review and advisory processes, and for leading the integration of those processes with related business, Information Technology and federated IT processes. You will lead, prioritize, and develop the overall enterprise architecture approach for the organization, and communicate architectural direction. This position manages a team of architects, business relationship managers (business, information, solution, technical and other), and analysts in a direct capacity, with matrixed management of other resources and management of consultants, as needed.

*This position is based in Mentor, Ohio with eligibility for a hybrid work schedule.

Duties

  • As a senior member of the architecture team, works closely with the Chief Enterprise Architect in the development and management of the EA program/function and promotes the business value of the EA program/function and its process, and the results of the EA program to business and IT leaders/executives.
  • Understands the business\'s economic and financial levers that are susceptible to digital transformation, to effectively support and guide technology investment decisions and construct future- and current-state business models to practically apply new and emerging technologies to drive them.
  • Guides and advises stakeholders about disruptive technologies and trends.
  • As assigned, leads analysis of current- and future-state capabilities technology environments to detect deficiencies and recommend solutions for incremental improvements and comprehensive changes.
  • Develops diagnostic and actionable deliverables that help business guide investment decisions.
  • As assigned, leads and/or participates in the analysis of the application environments to detect deficiencies and recommend solutions for continuous improvements and comprehensive changes.
  • Participates in the development of an implementation plan for enterprise architecture based on business requirements and IT strategies.
  • Lead and facilitate the creation of optimal governance structure, assurance and standards to guide EA decision making.
  • Oversee the evaluation and selection of EA standards, ongoing and continuous improvement and the documentation of all architecture design and analysis work.
  • Consult with infrastructure, project, and product teams to ensure consistency with the enterprise architecture, as well as to identify when it is necessary to modify the enterprise architecture.
  • Communicate the value of the enterprise architecture to the organization.
  • Advises the Chief Enterprise Architect on matters relating to technology strategy, regularly conducts studies, prepares reports, and makes presentations in leaders in IT and business organizations.
  • Advises the Chief Enterprise Architect on, and, as assigned, is personally responsible for the enterprise\'s most important and complex projects, shepherding them through the ideation, formulation, selling, planning, analysis, design, development, testing, adoption, and roll-out phases.
Required Experience
  • Bachelor\'s degree with 14 + years\' experience, master\'s degree(preferred) with 12 years\' experience in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis, MBA, math, statistics, health informatics, data science, finance, accounting, or a related field of study.
  • Eight or more years of software development or infrastructure experience.
  • Seven or more years\' experience managing major IT application and infrastructure projects.
  • Seven or more years of experience in three or more of the listed discipline; such as business analysis, information systems or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management, operations in a multitier environment, etc.
  • Six or more years of experience as an IT leadership position with responsibilities for creating and maintaining mission-critical systems.
  • Five or more years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis or as an Enterprise Architect.
  • Knowledge of and experience with software validation.
