Job Description

As the Director of Data Management for Wheeler Fleet Solutions, you will drive the data strategy that powers inventory optimization, supply chain efficiency, and customer experience. This role ensures accurate, timely, and compliant data across product catalogs, pricing, logistics, and aftermarket services, enabling the business to stay competitive in a fast-moving automotive market.



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



Data Strategy & Governance:



Develop and implement a data management framework tailored to automotive parts distribution and manufacturing. Establish governance for product data, supplier information, and customer records.

Inventory & Catalog Management:



Oversee data integrity for large-scale parts catalogs, including OEM and aftermarket components. Ensure accurate fitment data for light and heavy vehicles to support e-commerce and other systems.

Supply Chain & Operations Data:



Integrate data from suppliers, warehouses, and logistics partners for real-time visibility. Integrate data for demand forecasting and inventory optimization.

Compliance & Standards:



Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., ACES, PIES) and regulatory requirements. Work with internal IT data security team ensuring data security and privacy across all platforms.

Technology & Innovation:



Assist and sometimes lead the implementation of advanced data tools for pricing optimization, warranty tracking, and performance analytics. Initially, research, select and implement Product Information Management solution. Explore AI/ML solutions for predictive maintenance and customer insights.

Leadership & Collaboration:



Lead a team of data professionals and collaborate with IT, procurement, and sales teams. Communicate data-driven insights to executive leadership for strategic decisions. Experience with automotive aftermarket or OEM data ecosystems. Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and digital catalog management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (INCLUDES EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, COMPETENCIES), ETC.):

10+ years of experience in data management, with at least 5 years in leadership roles. Expertise in ERP systems, data integration tools, and cloud platforms. Excellent leadership and communication skills.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

Experience with automotive aftermarket or OEM data ecosystems. Knowledge of automotive parts industry data standards (ACES, PIES). Familiarity with e-commerce platforms and digital catalog management. Distribution Industry Experience Experience in PIM/MDM technologies Strong business acumen and executive-level communication skills.
