Job Summary

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs. This role involves assisting individuals with daily living activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their independence while fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere. The ideal candidate will have the heart and desire to make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of those we serve.

Responsibilities

Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
Provide care, including monitoring vital signs and administering medication as per Individual support plans.
Engage individuals in social activities and community outings to enhance their quality of life.
Assist the individual with household tasks to maintain cleanliness in living areas and ensure a safe environment.
Implement individualized support plans tailored to each individual's needs and preferences.
Observe and document behavior, progress, and any changes in condition for reporting purposes.
Support individuals with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
Foster a respectful relationship with the individuals while promoting their dignity and independence.
Adhere to HIPAA regulations to protect confidentiality at all times.
Previous experience in caregiving roles such as home health aide, nursing assistant, or direct support professional is preferred but not required!

Skills

Familiarity with working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer's disease, or dementia is highly desirable but not necessary!
Skills in first aid and CPR certification are beneficial for ensuring the individual's safety.
Experience in cleaning and maintaining a safe living environment is essential.
Knowledge of observation techniques and the ability to monitor changes in behavior or health status is crucial.
