reliable, mature male staff

to support a male consumer in the community. This position involves accompanying him to activities of his choice and providing supervision, redirection, and monitoring due to some behavioral concerns.

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential assistance and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or health challenges. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents through personalized support, safety oversight, and compassionate caregiving. Responsibilities

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Monitor residents' health status by observing vital signs, patient behavior, and overall condition, reporting any concerns promptly. Administer medications following prescribed care plans while maintaining strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards. Support residents during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional needs are met in accordance with dietary guidelines. Operate specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts and other assistive devices to ensure safe patient transfers and mobility assistance. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks in accordance with health standards and facility policies. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each resident's needs. Provide emotional support and companionship to residents, fostering a positive atmosphere that promotes dignity and independence.

Skills

Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments. Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques including vital signs measurement and dementia or Alzheimer's care strategies. Familiarity with medication administration protocols and HIPAA compliance requirements. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while assisting residents with mobility challenges or transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment. Strong observational skills for patient safety monitoring and early detection of health issues. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or memory care needs. Excellent caregiving skills combined with patience, empathy, and effective communication abilities. Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
