Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, aging needs, or other health challenges. Responsibilities

Provide training and support with daily living skills (hygiene, cleaning, meal prep, organization) Take clients into the community for skill-building activities such as shopping, transportation training, appointments, and social engagement Teach budgeting and money-management skills (no direct handling of funds unless authorized) Provide medication reminders only (no administration) Promote health, safety, and independence per the service plan Complete accurate progress notes and required documentation Follow DHS 245D standards, HIPAA, and agency policies Report incidents, safety concerns, or maltreatment

Qualifications

Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred. Must have a driver license and a vehicle with active insurance to transport clients TB TEST IS REQUIRED Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or memory-related conditions like dementia or Alzheimer's disease is desirable. Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks required for resident transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts. Strong communication skills coupled with patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to support others' independence.
