Job Description

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) provides support, supervision, and assistance to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. DSPs help individuals achieve greater independence, participate in meaningful activities, and reach personal goals while ensuring safety, dignity, and respect at all times.

Provide direct care, supervision, and support to individuals during daily activities, community outings, and work or volunteer opportunities. Encourage and assist individuals in building daily living, social, and communication skills. Support individuals in maintaining personal hygiene, health, and safety needs as required. Implement individual service plans (ISPs) and follow behavioral support strategies. Accurately document services provided, behaviors, and progress in daily notes or data sheets. Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and medication administration (if certified). Transport individuals safely to and from community activities and appointments as needed. Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants. Communicate effectively with team members, families, and supervisors about individual needs and goals. Participate in staff meetings, training, and ongoing professional development.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
