Overview


We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and those requiring specialized assistance. This role involves working closely with residents in various settings such as group homes and home care environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing quality of life through personalized care, ensuring safety, and promoting independence. Prior experience in healthcare, home & community care, or long-term care is highly valued. Duties



Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor residents' health status by observing for any changes in condition and document. Support residents during meal preparation and feeding, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration Provide personal care such as toileting, hygiene assistance, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts Engage residents in social activities, recreational programs, and community outings to promote socialization and independence Maintain a safe environment by adhering to safety protocols, including CPR and First Aid procedures Document care activities accurately in compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and organizational policies Assist with housekeeping tasks like cleaning resident areas to ensure a hygienic environment Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to develop and follow individualized care plans

Requirements



Prior experience in group home settings, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health is preferred Certification in CPR and First Aid is highly desirable; willingness to obtain if not already certified Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or autism is beneficial Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or mobility assistance Strong communication skills and patience when working with individuals with diverse needs Understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to improve the well-being of others Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed Valid Drivers license Criminal Background check Current TB skin test and physical

Pay: From $11.00 per hour
