About the Role:
The Direct Support Professional in Manufacturing plays a critical role in supporting individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities within a manufacturing environment. This position focuses on empowering and assisting clients to achieve greater independence and success in their work tasks, while ensuring their safety and well-being. The role involves providing hands-on support, training, and encouragement to help clients develop job skills and maintain productivity standards. Additionally, the professional collaborates with team members and supervisors to create a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Ultimately, this position contributes to both the personal growth of the individuals supported and the operational efficiency of the manufacturing setting.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 3:00pm, 35 hrs per week.
Hourly rate of pay: $19.96
Home Location: Hess Center, Champerland Highway
Manufacturing location will be determined upon hire.
Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and safety standards.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients, team members, and supervisors.
  • Physical ability to assist clients and perform tasks that may require standing, walking, or lifting.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) or a related credential.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial work environment.
  • Training in first aid and CPR.
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques.
  • Experience using assistive technology or adaptive equipment.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist individuals with disabilities in performing manufacturing tasks safely and effectively according to established procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance to help clients develop job-related skills and improve their work performance.
  • Monitor and support the physical and emotional well-being of clients throughout their workday.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and team members to adapt work assignments to meet individual needs and capabilities.
  • Document progress, incidents, and any changes in client status accurately and timely.
  • Promote a respectful, inclusive, and supportive work environment that encourages client engagement and independence.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies within the manufacturing area.
