Direct Support Professional (Independent Contractor - 1099)

Overview

LMI Consulting is seeking dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. Contractors may work in day programs or residential home settings, assisting clients in achieving independence, safety, and well-being through hands-on, personalized care.

This is a 1099 independent contractor position -- you are responsible for your own expenses, transportation, and maintaining required certifications. All candidates must successfully complete a background check conducted by LMI Consulting prior to placement.

Responsibilities

Support individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Administer medications per care plans (CMT certification required). Provide social, emotional, and community engagement support to promote inclusion and growth. Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment in all settings. Assist with mobility, adaptive equipment, and client safety (e.g., Hoyer lifts). Accurately document observations, incidents, and progress in accordance with HIPAA standards. Follow individualized care plans and collaborate with healthcare and supervisory teams. Offer companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to clients.

Certified Medication Technician (

Mandt Certification

CPR & First Aid (in-person training only)

Valid Driver's License

Ability and willingness to

travel to all three regions:

Frederick, MD

Landover, MD

Baltimore, MD

Must pass a background check conducted by LMI Consulting. Must be flexible to work in day program or residential settings as needed. Experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or behavioral challenges preferred. Ability to lift, transfer, and provide physical assistance when required.

Compensation:

Hourly rate based on assignment and experience

Responsibilities:

Contractor is responsible for their own taxes, insurance, certifications, and work-related expenses.

Pay: $17.50 per hour
