Job Overview

Responsibilities

Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Monitor residents' health status by observing vital signs, patient behavior, and overall condition; report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals. Administer medications accurately following care plans while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal service in accordance with safety standards. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing routine cleaning tasks and adhering to sanitation protocols. Support residents in participating in community activities and social outings to promote engagement and independence. Follow detailed care plans designed by healthcare teams, ensuring personalized support that respects each resident's preferences and needs.

Skills

Proven experience working in group homes, assisted living, or home & community care settings with individuals who have developmental disabilities or aging-related conditions. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, vital signs measurement, medication administration, and dementia or Alzheimer's care. Familiarity with emergency procedures such as CPR and first aid certification; ability to respond calmly in crisis situations. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely using equipment like Hoyer lifts; physically capable of supporting residents during transfers or mobility assistance. Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations related to patient privacy and confidentiality. Experience working with people with autism or other developmental disabilities, providing tailored support for their unique needs. Excellent communication skills combined with patience, empathy, and active listening abilities essential for effective caregiving. Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
