POSITION SUMMARY

Direct Support Professional (DSP) - Male Only (Silver Spring, MD)

We are seeking a mature, experienced, and reliable Male Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a young adult male client in Silver Spring, MD. The ideal candidate will be outgoing, active, and able to provide strong mentorship while encouraging independence and community involvement. male DSP position

Hours

:

Monday - Friday: 2:30 PM - 7:30 PM Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
(40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

:

Provide direct support and mentorship to a high-functioning young adult with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Support the client in community activities, including gym sessions, sports, and volunteering. Pick up the client from work at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) at 2:30 PM and begin shift at pickup. Promote independence, social engagement, and healthy routines. Communicate effectively with family and the care team regarding progress, activities, and any concerns.

Responsibilities:

Must be male. Prior experience working with individuals in the IDD community is required. Must be mature, dependable, and an excellent communicator. Outgoing personality and willingness to engage in community-based activities. Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED. Related Experience preferred. Must be able to work Independently. Ability to properly document activities. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

WORKING CONDITION:

Must assist with daily living skills (e.g., lifting, transferring, toileting, personal hygiene, laundry, and cooking). Must be available in emergency situations as the need arises. A Maryland driver's license is required, and an approved clean driving record is necessary.
