Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities and other special needs in the Residential Habilitation setting. This role involves assisting clients in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their overall well-being in participants homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve.

Responsibilities

Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor and document behaviors to ensure health and safety. Implement care plans tailored to individual needs while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support individuals in social interactions and community involvement to foster independence. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary guidelines and individual preferences. Engage individuals in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and emotional well-being. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for individuals. Administer medication as prescribed and ensure compliance with care plans.

Experience

Candidates should have experience or skills in the following areas:

First aid and CPR certification is preferred. Previous experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health care. Familiarity with working with individuals who have developmental disabilities, autism, or mental health. Strong observation skills for monitoring changes in behavior or health status. Knowledge of caregiving practices including meal preparation, individual monitoring, and medication administration. Experience in long-term care settings or social work is a plus. 3p-11p Sunday-Thursday and Tuesday - Saturday Weekend Split: Sun/Mon AM and Fri/Sat PM Weekend Split: Sun/Mon PM and Fri/Sat AM 11p-7a Sat/Sun, Sun/Mon, Fri/Sat
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 - 40 per week
