Direct Support Professional (DSP) in Oakdale ORIENTATION FOR DIRECT SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS EVERY MONDAY! All employees are eligible for PTO, 401K with employer match, and PROFIT SHARING; and full time employees are eligible for MEDICAL/DENTAL/VISION. WHY WORK FOR US? There are several open positions, both part-time and full-time at this site: Schedule: Thursday 3:30p - 10p; Every other Saturday and Sunday 11a - 6p Pay rate: Starting at $18/hour at our Glenbrook 2 Site
Job Roles/Responsibilities:

• Promote independence with clients by offering choices and fostering self-help skills.

• Document any changes in clients\xe2\x80\x99 condition or incidents, as well as collect, record, and summarize data on observable client behavior.

• Follow the behavioral skill acquisition and behavior reduction protocols as outlined in the individual\'s personalized treatment plan.

• Focus on teaching and other antecedent strategies for reducing interfering behaviors.

• Be compassionate, flexible, and adaptable to changing situations.

• Assist clients with daily room order and light housekeeping to maintain a clean environment.

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (including, but not limited to, administering medication, dressing, showering, grooming, toilet assistance and escorting).

• To have full knowledge of Permitted, Restricted, and Prohibited procedures (EUMR).

• To have a general understanding of Positive Support Strategies and have the ability to implement behavior support plans.

• Excellent proactive and reactive positive support strategies

• Ability to perform physical interventions to ensure the safety of the individuals served

• High school diploma/GED required.

• Ability to pass a background check with the Department of Health and Human Services.

• A valid drivers license
