Young woman in Rockville, MD is seeking a part time Community Development Support provider committed to community engagement to assist with craft business and community activities. A highly engaged position providing support to her in her neighborhood, community, and home. This is a team oriented, supportive, and fun environment where your skills and creativity will be appreciated.

Job Duties Include: Most Saturdays involve going to community events (like parades, festivals and fairs) and assisting her with the craft business which includes: researching vendor opportunities, assisting in identifying new products to make, shopping for materials and potentially assisting in making the products (sewing, etc.).

Staff will assist in business operations with her small business postings on social media. Using the person's adapted vehicle and driving to and from various events and activities which may involve travel of an hour or more. Accompanying on public transportation may be needed for recreational events such as visiting museums.

When vending at a fair or festival on Saturdays, employees will work with the woman and another co-worker and will provide support in personal care (description below) to get ready, support to set up, sell and clean up during shows.

Personal Support includes assistance with transfers, positioning, bathing, dressing, meal preparation, eating, bowel management, housekeeping, meal preparation, medication administration, organization of paperwork and support with communication device. Technology is used for communication, photography, sewing and relaxation; computer and iPad for learning and entertainment. Assistance with technology is part of the position.

Recording daily information and notes, attending team meetings, and providing back up to other staff if possible. Possibility of overnight supervision hours if desired - not required.

Qualifications:

? Current CPR/1st Aid, Active Maryland CMT.

? Clean driving record, Background check is required.

? Your own reliable transportation to work.

? Fun loving, ready to explore the community and try new things.

? Promptness and reliability is crucial.

? Comfort and use of technology and applications including camera, computer, iPad, and communication device. Prior experience with alternative computer access and/or speech generating devices a big plus!

? Successful applicants will have personal or professional experience supporting someone with personal care needs. Lifting for transfers, personal care is required.

? Not required, but experience using a sewing machine is a big plus!

? Excellent communication skills

? Up to date vaccinations.

? Ideal candidate will work as a team member in a reliable, responsible, responsive, positive, creative, patient, and problem-solving environment.

? Residents of Montgomery County preferred; activities in the surrounding area include taking Metro to DC for recreation and events.
