Job Description

Candidates for this position must have prior experience working with seniors in an assisted living or nursing home enviornment, working with over 15 residents at a time, be available for 3rd shift from 11pm-7am, and a history of reliable work attendance. CNA certification preferred. No phone calls please.

Sugarbush Living provides assisted living, memory, hospice, and respite care in a comfortable homelike environment for our residents. We currently operate four 6 bed residential communities and one 14 room community in the Flint area. Our team of caregivers are an essential part of the caregiving team tasked with the care and well-being of our residents throughout our communities.

Responsibilities for Direct Support Professionals include, but are not limited to:
- Provide direct support and assistance to residents in a home care setting
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met
- Help residents with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications according to prescribed schedules
- Assist with mobility and lifting as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote a positive and safe living environment
- Foster social interactions and engage residents in meaningful activities

Requirements for a Direct Support Professional include, but are not limited to:
- Previous experience in direct support or a related field is preferred
- Reliable transportation to work in our communities.
- Knowledge of systems and procedures related to home care services
- Ability to lift and assist with the transfer of residents using proper lifting techniques
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals with varying needs and abilities
