Job Summary

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated caregiver for a 24 year old in Hillsboro looking for help up to full time. Days and times are currently flexible/TBD. He enjoys video games and board games. He is looking for assistance with cooking, learning to do things independently, provide cueing and reminders for hygiene, and help him get out into the community. He is looking for a DSP who likes to play video/board games, and is patient, kind, and interested in what he is interested in. He works best with a provider who has experience working with clients who have Agoraphobic, anxiety, depression, major depressive disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, OCD, PTSD. DSP would also need to be able to drive. There is no smoking or pets in the home.

Duties

Assist individuals with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities and those experiencing dementia, ensuring their unique needs are met. Foster a positive environment by encouraging social interactions and participation in community activities. Maintain documentation of care provided, adhering to HIPAA regulations and resident rights. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other staff to develop and implement individualized care plans. Monitor and report any changes in residents' physical or emotional conditions to the appropriate personnel. Engage residents in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in a group home setting is preferred. Knowledge of dementia care practices is an asset. Familiarity with resident rights and HIPAA regulations is essential. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients. Compassionate nature with a commitment to providing high-quality care. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative when needed. Previous experience as a nurse or in a healthcare-related field is a plus but not required.
