SEEKING FULL/PART TIME STAFF for our DAY and Evening SHIFT Only Welcome to Unified Dwelling (UD), a rapidly growing human service agency founded in 2018, with the goal of helping struggling adolescents find a \xe2\x80\x9czest for life" and succeed in their \xe2\x80\x9cadult life.\xe2\x80\x9d UD has evolved to four group homes in a short period with room for growth, and a strong focus on community-based treatment services that offers a variety of mental health support services to a diverse population of \xe2\x80\x9chard to treat\xe2\x80\x9d and \xe2\x80\x9cdifficult to place\xe2\x80\x9d adolescence. UD is known for its ability to achieve successful outcomes with difficult-to-serve individuals throughout county agencies. Summary: Our programming affords children and adolescents the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with others, to grow and discover their gifts, and realize their potential to thrive. As a Behavioral Health Specialist, you will be the centerpiece of making our commitment a reality. You will have many opportunities to grow as a professional and to impact the lives of our residents including, but not limited to: Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervision within sight or sound of the child or pursuant to the level of supervision specified in the child\'s service plan. A child may be left alone or unsupervised only in accordance with the service plan of that child.
  • Provide mentoring residents, including role modeling appropriate behavior, redirection, de-escalation and crisis management.
  • Overnight staff will remain awake and alert for residents in the home and be responsible and alert to resident\xe2\x80\x99s nighttime awakenings and behaviors. Must check on them every 30 minutes by conducting rounds.
  • Provides care and psychosocial education as prescribed by each individual\'s treatment plan.
  • Deliver direct services to the residents which include daily living skills, meal preparation, hygiene practices, recreational, social activities, and any other duties necessary to reintegrate and reunify our residents into the community and with their families.
  • Refine residents\xe2\x80\x99 social skills, interpersonal skills, habilitation skills, and coping mechanisms through the development of respectful & positive relationships.
  • Be a positive role model to help shape growth and build trust.
  • Development of polite communication skills and respectfulness of authority.
  • Be their first line of support to provide emotional stability during moments of crisis.
  • Discover meaningful coping mechanisms for residents to deal with crisis or high stress situations.
  • Assist residents with all household chores. Always maintain the house neat and clean.
  • Periodic room checks
  • Will always present self appropriately and as a role model for residents.
  • Follow daily schedule, keep residents active and always give them a choice
  • Will know and follow emergency plan and procedures.
  • Will document all occurrences and observations on their proper forms every shift.
  • To participate in training provided by Executive Director or Group Home Manager to learn about OAC topics, Mental Illness, the individual participant\xe2\x80\x99s needs and goals, how to respond to various situations, how to document services, and other issues related to the job;
  • To provide necessary supervision of the participant, in all aspects of carrying out treatment plan;
  • Maintenance and Security of Agency Records;
  • Designated to make decisions involving the participation of a child in age appropriate or developmentally appropriate activities.
  • Designated to be the caregiver authorized to apply the reasonable and prudent parent standard.
  • Complete all agency training requirements as outlined in rule 5101:2-9-03 of the OAC.
  • Possess a current American red cross, American heart association or equivalent first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification. The CPR certification shall be the type applicable to the age and size of the children able to be served in the agency.
Facilitate the residential routine with intention and thoughtful planning.
  • Attend work with punctuality, and manage time effectively
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings before releasing staff
  • Plan and execute life-relevant and meaningful programming
  • Internalize daily schedule, show understanding of programmatic rituals and routines
  • Encourage and teach residents to engage in stewardship of their environment and themselves
Understand and apply knowledge of risk factors, protective factors, and mental health in the execution of the program\xe2\x80\x99s residential treatment model.
  • Learn and understand the effect of trauma, medical, psychological, and other risk factors
  • Participate in the program\xe2\x80\x99s residential treatment model
  • Seek student specific information through Service Plans, training, and assessments
  • Practice negotiation, cooperation, and collaboration with students towards the program\xe2\x80\x99s goals
Professionally document service delivery and behavior-related incidents in a timely manner

Act as a professional, and seek professional improvement
  • Manage personal stress effectively by regulation of personal agitation levels

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time Pay: $13.30 - $17.00 per hour Schedule:
  • 12 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Rotating weekends
