Responsibilities



Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs. Support residents with medication administration following care plans and medical guidelines while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure resident health and safety. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and assist with feeding as needed. Engage residents in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being. Maintain accurate documentation of care provided using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and update care plans regularly. Support behavioral management strategies for residents with dementia or autism by implementing personalized care approaches. Ensure cleanliness of living areas through light cleaning duties to uphold hygiene standards. Drive residents to appointments or outings safely when required, adhering to all safety protocols. Respond promptly to emergencies or incidents by following established protocols including first aid procedures.

Requirements



Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism, or hospice needs is advantageous. Ability to assist with ADLs and perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting or using Hoyer lifts safely. Familiarity with medical terminology and basic patient care procedures; CPR/First Aid certification is a plus. Strong communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and team members. Valid driver's license and ability to drive safely when transporting residents or running errands. Demonstrated ability to handle conflict management situations compassionately and professionally. Flexibility to work the day shift hours consistently; reliability and punctuality are essential.
