Northwest College Support supports college-age students and individuals who are developing skills needed to live healthy, independent lives. At NWCS we provide an environment for change, guiding our students in the areas of education, mental health, life skills and overall wellness. Direct Care Staff support student plans, by building relationships with our students, modeling positive habits, providing opportunities for social engagement and supporting students\' daily routines. Position: Direct Care Staff work directly with our students to guide them toward their goals. This role can include:

• Mentor young adults to create positive change in their lives.
• Support students to manage their daily routine.
• Foster a safe and inclusive environment.
• Facilitate fun and engaging activities (recreation, art, community events, etc.) Be creative!
• Provide transportation to school, work, volunteering, etc.
• Assist students with housekeeping tasks.
• Respond to crisis situations and provide de-escalation when needed.
• Conduct rounds, checking in with each student.
• Report student updates to leadership.
• Engage in our dynamic team approach to serving our students!

Requirements:

• Strong desire to help people; high level of compassion and empathy
• Contribute to a positive and inclusive environment, supporting people of all backgrounds
• High level of professional maturity, resiliency, and good decision making.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work on a team.
• HS/ GED required; Associate\'s degree or beyond, preferred.
• Valid driver\'s license
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
