Job Description

Job Title: YOU must be pretty FLEXIBLE and AVAILABLE.

You must have a very reliable vehicle, insurance and drivers' license. We drive clients every day to the gym, appointments and activities of their choosing. You will drive those we serve in your vehicle but are reimbursed .65 cents a mile.

You will primarily work at two female only group homes. If you are still wanting additional shifts, you can pick up at two male houses. Ideally, we would like a staff who wants to work at least 20 -25 hours a week. Ideally, we would like someone who CAN work an awake shift, day shift, evening shift or weekend.

Duties:
- Provide direct support and care to individuals with down syndrome, autism and other developmental disabilities
- Assist individuals with daily activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration
- Create a safe and supportive environment for individuals to thrive
- Implement individualized care plans and behavior support plans
- Engage individuals in recreational and social activities including driving them in your vehicle to activities.
- Document and report any changes in behavior or health status to the appropriate supervisor
- Collaborate with a team of professionals including nurses, therapists, and caregivers

Skills:
- Experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of proper care techniques for individuals with special needs
- FLEXIBILITY (open most hours and days and RELIABILITY. (show up ON TIME and WHEN scheduled.)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work as part of a team (NO DRAMA, NO GOSSIP, NOT USING PHONE AT WORK)
- Experience in meal preparation and medication administration is a plus
- Ability to bathe males or females.
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized environment
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and assisting individuals with mobility challenges. In addition, all staff help with snow removal.

We are looking for someone to pick up shifts regularly with a great degree of flexibility. If there are times you are generally not available, what are they? For example: "I can't work Sundays."
