Job Description

AltaVita Independent Living is seeking a talented and enthusiastic food service professional to join our team as the Dining Services Manager. This position requires three or more years' experience managing, operating, or supervising a dining program for front of the house and back of the house. Must have knowledge of and ability to meet regulations of the Colorado State Health Department, infection control, food code, and OSHA.

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Assist in the development of Dining Services policies and procedures.

Supervise the receiving and storage of food. Experience with inventory and ordering procedures. Supervise food preparation and service. Ensure maintenance of equipment. Maintain control of food and labor costs. Schedule food service employees. Maintain records, including meal censuses, menus, purchase records, and weekly staffing patterns. Hire, orient, train, evaluate, and supervise dietary department employees within a specific budget. Plan menus to ensure that they conform to nutritional standards and established regulations and procedures. Maintain control of food, supplies, and labor costs Supervise cleaning procedures to ensure safe and sanitary conditions are maintained within the food service department, including kitchen, dining room, refrigerators, and freezers. Work with other departments within the building. Participate in the Quality Management Committee, which also includes infection control and safety committee functions.
Qualifications

Must value the success of others and promote teamwork. Strong customer service skills and understanding of the aging population. Basic understanding of Dementia and enjoy working with senior adults. Critical thinking skills Keep records including menus as served, substitution menu records, special diet roster, number of meals served, purchased and food cost records.
