Job Description

The Litchfield Country Club is a family-oriented member-run organization offering a friendly atmosphere and fun for all ages. Nestled within the White Memorial Foundation property, the Club boasts a challenging 9-hole golf course with views of the Litchfield Hills, no tee times, and opportunities for all levels of play. Additional amenities include four Har-Tru tennis courts, two paddle tennis/pickleball courts, swimming and wading pools and a vibrant summer children's program. Open most of the year, the clubhouse is a restored mid-19th century farmhouse with terraces and gardens overlooking the tranquil and meandering Bantam River and Litchfield Hills. With two indoor dining rooms, a newly furnished screened in porch and open deck, and a courtside snack bar, the Club is a perfect setting to enjoy full-service brunch, lunch, dinner and special events.

The

Dining Services Director

is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the LCC dining services department, ensuring high-quality food and beverage service, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and efficient kitchen and dining room operations. This position is responsible for hiring and management of FOH and BOH personnel, budgeting, menu development, event planning, purchasing controls, sanitation, food production as needed, and service delivery across all meal periods and events. As a member of the senior management team, this individual is expected to lead by example, fostering a culture of respect, hospitality and excellence among staff.

The Dining Services Director is required to be on-site during all dining operational hours.

Key Responsibilities:



*Must have thorough knowledge of fine dining, restaurant management and menu planning.

*Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

*Carry out detailed written or verbal instructions.

*Make mature judgments, function independently, ability to be flexible and adaptable working with others, have personal integrity, and work effectively with LCC House Chair, board members, club members, other Club departments and internal/external support services

*Must demonstrate initiative and judgment in assigning tasks, delegating responsibility and resolving operational problems.

*Must be able to effectively handle and manage stress and stressful situations.

*Inspect dining services areas and practices for compliance with current applicable regulations

*Assure that the department functions in a clean and safe manner by assuring

necessary equipment and supplies are maintained to perform such duties and services.

*Required to be on-site during all dining room operational hours

*Provide hands-on support as needed, stepping in during staffing shortages or peak business hours.

*Other duties as assigned by management

Personnel Functions:



*Develops work assignments for all dining services personnel, which are written, dated, posted in the kitchen area.

*Sets performance standards for department personnel.

*Reviews complaints and grievances and makes necessary oral/written reports to the House Chair.

*Effectively delegates authority, responsibility, and accountability to other responsible department personnel.

*Assures that staff education and training is provided to dining services personnel in accordance with a staff education plan.

*Conducts regular employee reviews and evaluations, setting goals and objectives for improvement.

Education/Certifications:



High School diploma or equivalent required

Degree in hotel, restaurant or culinary services is preferred.

ServeSafe, TIPS certified

Experience:



Minimum of five (5) years of leadership experience

in restaurant operations and quality food management, with some experience in a club or similar environment a plus. Proficient using and training staff on restaurant POS systems. Ability to use Microsoft Office or similar software products.

Physical Demands:



Ability to move freely throughout the clubhouse and on the grounds Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday, performing such activities as reading, writing, grasping, lifting, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, moving up and down stairs and perform medium physical work, exerting up to 30 pounds of force on a frequent basis and up to 50 pounds on occasion

Work Schedule:



The dining room operates from

mid-February through December

, offering lunch and dinner service

4-5 days per week (Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon in summer season)

, in addition to special events.

Shift

: Full time salaried role / 40 hours per week
