Job Description

The Dining Room Supervisor is responsible for ensuring an exceptional dining experience for members and guests through the highest standards of hospitality, service, and professionalism. This position oversees all aspects of dining room operations, including staff training, service execution, and member relations. This role ensures the dining room is immaculate in both presentation and atmosphere, supports the Food & Beverage leadership team, and leads by example in upholding Prairie Dunes Country Club's culture of excellence.





Timeliness, a positive attitude, and a strong sense of urgency are essential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate poise under pressure, strong leadership skills, and a genuine passion for service.




ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:




Lead by Example:

Set the tone for the dining team through professionalism, punctuality, and an unwavering commitment to member satisfaction.

Ambassador of the Club:

Greet members and guests warmly, maintaining an approachable, polished, and service-oriented presence throughout operations.

Operational Oversight:

Serve as opening and/or closing manager, ensuring all service areas are properly prepared, staffed, and maintained.

Service Leadership:

Guide staff through all service types, including a la carte, buffet, and special events, ensuring seamless execution and consistency.

Event Coordination:

Assist with event setup, service, and breakdown, maintaining communication with all parties involved.

Staff Scheduling & Supervision:

Collaborate with other F&B Supervisors and the Bar Manager to develop balanced schedules and ensure adequate coverage across dining areas.

Pre-Shift Leadership:

Conduct pre-shift meetings to review menu details, service expectations, and member notes; document and communicate shift outcomes in daily reports.

Member Relations:

Respond promptly and professionally to member feedback or service concerns, escalating issues appropriately to the Director or Assistant Director of Food & Beverage or Executive Chef when necessary.

Team Training & Development:

Assist in the training and continued development of dining staff, reinforcing the Club's service standards and best practices.

Quality Control:

Ensure staff maintain proper uniform standards, workstation cleanliness, and adherence to service protocols.

Administrative Duties:

Verify closing procedures, reconcile server and bartender chits, and submit accurate end-of-shift reports.

Compliance & Safety:

Ensure compliance with all state and local liquor laws and Club policies.

Collaboration:

Serve as liaison between front-of-house and back-of-house teams to ensure smooth communication and guest satisfaction.

Additional Duties:

Perform other related tasks as assigned by management to support overall club operations.



OTHER RESPONSIBITILITIES:




Working with the Bar Manager on inventory and ordering of non - alcoholic beverages/mixers. Assists in keeping EventPro for F&B communication, lodging stays, as well as upcoming events. Works with Bar Manager on updating member wine locker lists.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:




High School education (GED equivalent) is a must; College education is a plus Minimum 2 years server experience Excellent multitasking ability Attention to detail and strong leadership ability Ability to maintain restraint in stressful situations Ability to effectively and professionally deal with members, some of whom may require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger Ability to listen effectively and to speak English clearly over the telephone Ability to achieve positive member relations and maximize member satisfaction



PHYSICAL DEMANDS - ABILITY TO:




Ability to grasp, lift, carry or transport up to 40 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods of time, walk frequently; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Ability to perform the duties of this job while exposed to outside weather conditions. Ability to express and exchange ideas by means of the spoken word accurately, loudly and quickly.




Assure a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of dining room. Ensures timeliness of food service. Supervise and train dining room staff. Develop and implement programs to increase revenues through repeat business and higher check averages.





Due to the cyclical nature of our industry, Club Employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the Club. Upon employment, all associates are required to fully comply with the company's rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the facilities. Associates who violate the rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
