WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN A DINING ROOM SERVER AND HOST

We are looking for a

Dining Room Host/Server

who is energized by the opportunity to join a thriving independent living senior community. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys connecting with others and creating a welcoming dining experience.

The host greets and seats residents, keeps an accurate record of attendance for each meal, and helps ensure the dining room runs smoothly. This position also provides leadership support to the front-of-house servers and may occasionally assist with serving as needed.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF A DINING ROOM SERVER

Under the direction of the Dining Services Director, a Dining Room Server performs a variety of tasks in the preparation, service, and clean up for lunch and dinner meals served to our residents. Some of the general responsibilities of a Dining Server include, but are not limited to:

Upholds a high level of customer service when dealing with staff, residents, families, and guests -- addressing questions and concerns with respect and thoughtfulness Take roll call and accurately record who attended each meal Assist residents with seating and ensure they are comfortably settled Creates an enjoyable dining experience for residents and their guests They are responsible for supervising the dining room servers. Guide and support the servers during service to ensure smooth dining room flow Monitor table cleanliness and ensure the dining room remains tidy and presentable Check in with residents throughout the meal to make sure they are enjoying their dining experience Notify leadership if there are ongoing concerns or patterns related to service or resident needs Occasionally assist with serving when needed Follows established guidelines while serving in the main dining room and at special functions Serves residents promptly in an orderly and polite manner, bussing tables between courses in an organized manner, and resetting tables daily Follows all safety and sanitation rules and regulations Follows instructions, works well with others, and maintains a good rapport with residents Refers all problems to host/hostess or member of the management staff Presents a clean and professional appearance Cooperates with staff of other departments in performing job duties

SHIFTS OF A DINING SERVER

We are looking for a Full Time Dining Room Server. We serve two meals a day - lunch and supper. Typical hours range from 10:30 am - 6:30 pm.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or long-term care dining environment preferred. Must be able to speak, read, and write English fluently. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, working weekends or holidays when needed. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk/stand 90% or more of shifts, and respond to all resident and emergency needs quickly, with or without reasonable accommodation.
