Job Summary/Description: WTVG is looking for a Digital Content Producer to join our team. The right candidate will execute a multi-platform content strategy by creating and posting engaging content on digital and social media platforms. Strong writing skills, excellent time management skills, news judgment, and a working understanding of social media platforms are key to success in this position. The right candidate has solid news judgment and can juggle multiple tasks simultaneously. It is critical that a Digital Content Producer has the ability to communicate clearly and work in a timely manner. Duties/Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

• Working closely with the entire news team to create and showcase original content and distribute it on all digital platforms
• Posts news stories to the station\'s website, apps, and social media
• Executes live coverage on multiple platforms during breaking news, severe weather, and developing stories
• Creating and publishing timely and engaging content to digital and social media platforms
• Copy-edits digital stories from reporters
• Livestreams events using station technology for WTVG\'s streaming platforms
• Newsgathering (confirming information, breaking news coverage)
• Monitoring scanners and social media
• Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Excellent newswriting and copy-editing skills
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Demonstrates solid news judgment
• Demonstrates knowledge of basic newsgathering (confirming information, breaking news coverage)
• Working understanding of social media platforms
• Working knowledge of current events and community issues
• Ability to handle and adjust to last-minute changes
• Can handle a fast-paced work environment
