Position Summary

We are looking for a talented Design Director to join our Global Growth team. In this role, you will be a key leader of the design team working with key agency leadership, new business team members, and presentation designers to bring UM\'s proposition to life with a magical combination of creativity and logic, arts and smarts, and beauty and brains. You will be responsible for coordinating and leading design concepts for all pitch materials to bring wins home!
This person will lead from ideation and creation to execution and implementation to design polished, inspiring presentation decks and other bespoke materials for prospective clients. You will lead a team of presentation designers by mentoring and encouraging others to apply rigor to their work, no matter how small. Additionally, you are a doer, ready to get your hands dirty. Our designers work collaboratively and autonomously, ensuring every project is executed beautifully.

Responsibilities
  • Lead ideation and development of all pitch presentations and materials
  • Manage all global design resources including mentoring and leading a team of designers
  • Partner with new business and agency leadership teams to tell stories through presentation design and incorporate new ways of visual communication
  • Help teams deliver compelling presentations tailored to each client and ensure submissions that stand out from the pack
  • Identify and manage the creation and development of presentation materials and room theater in partnership with the new business leadership team
  • Inspire the design team with creativity, fresh ideas, and positivity
Required Skills & Experience
  • 5-10 years in a designer role
  • Previous experience or desire to directly manage and mentor a team is preferred
  • Previous experience working in business development environment
  • Expert in PowerPoint, Keynote, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator at minimum)
  • Detail-oriented, progressive, strategic, and critical thinker with a passion for the industry
  • Significant experience working and collaborating with cross-agency teams
  • Embodies and reflects the UM culture in thought and practice; collaborative, values-driven, empathetic, and family-oriented
  • Embraces new ideas and experimentation; naturally curious, this person is energized rather than intimidated by ambiguity and not afraid to take risks
  • Thrives in fast paced environment with strong attention to detail
  • Travel as needed (~25%)
  • Global experience and/or having worked with offshore teams is a nice to have

The salary range for this position is posted below.
