Job Summary


We are seeking a dedicated Dietitian Assistant to support our healthcare team in providing comprehensive nutritional care. This role involves assisting with patient assessments, implementing care plans, and supporting dietetic services across various clinical settings, including long-term care, acute care, and geriatrics. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in nutrition and dietetics, with experience in hospital or dietary department environments. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to patient health outcomes while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic healthcare setting.

Duties



Assist registered dietitians with patient assessments and monitoring nutritional status Support the development and implementation of individualized care plans, including tube feeding and weight management strategies Participate in diagnostic evaluations related to nutrition and physiology Help coordinate dietary services for patients with special needs such as tube feeding or specific medical conditions Utilize EMR systems to document patient information accurately and efficiently Supervise dietary activities under the direction of licensed dietitians, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and safety standards Provide health coaching to patients on nutrition, weight loss, and lifestyle modifications Assist with patient education regarding diet plans, care instructions, and nutritional goals Support the dietary department in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health regulations

Requirements



Prior experience in hospital or long-term care settings preferred, especially within geriatrics or acute care environments Knowledge of physiology, nutrition, dietetics, and care plans applicable to diverse patient populations Experience with tube feeding procedures and patient assessment techniques Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and record keeping Supervising experience or ability to oversee dietary activities effectively Strong understanding of diagnostic evaluation processes related to nutrition and health coaching skills Excellent communication skills for patient interaction and interdisciplinary collaboration Ability to work in fast-paced healthcare environments while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards Long-term care experience or dietary department experience is highly desirable
