Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals, and will be responsible for supporting the dietary department in meal preparation and service. This role is essential in ensuring that residents receive nutritious meals that meet their dietary needs while maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.

Duties

Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to established menus and dietary guidelines. Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety and sanitation regulations. Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and bussing tables. Support the dietary department by organizing food supplies and assisting with inventory management. Provide excellent customer service to residents, addressing any dietary concerns or preferences they may have. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely meal delivery and presentation. Participate in training sessions related to food safety, sanitation, and dietary practices.

Requirements

Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospital settings is preferred but not required. Knowledge of food production techniques and culinary skills is an advantage but not necessary. Strong time management skills to efficiently handle multiple tasks during meal preparation and service times. Familiarity with dietary guidelines and meal preparation processes is highly desirable but is teachable. Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with residents and staff members. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining a positive attitude. Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area.
