Job Description

Position Summary:

The Shop Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations within the truck and diesel repair shop. This role ensures work is assigned effectively, technicians are supported and trained, and all repairs meet quality, efficiency, and safety standards. The Shop Foreman will also provide hands-on diagnostic and repair assistance as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Oversight

Assign repair and maintenance tasks to technicians based on skill level and workload. Monitor job progress to ensure timely completion and adherence to shop standards. Conduct final quality control inspections on completed work. Ensure shop safety practices are followed.

Technical & Maintenance Duties

Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues. Perform hands-on repair work when necessary. Inspect and maintain vehicles, heavy equipment, and shop machinery. Stay current on evolving diagnostic tools, repair procedures, and industry best practices.

Team Leadership & Training

Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to technicians. Assist with onboarding and skill development of new team members. Set performance expectations and contribute to technician evaluations.

Communication & Collaboration

Provide regular updates to management regarding shop workload and equipment status. Work collaboratively with parts, customer service, and administrative personnel to streamline workflow and improve turnaround time.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
