The Die Cutter l is responsible for setting up, adjusting, monitoring, and operating die-cutting machines. The role continuously checks for accuracy and quality, monitors the machines, and corrects problems according to the specifications. The Die Cutter l is responsible for the quality of the finished product.
Essential Job Functions:
Setting up and operating the 70-ton press for production
Using the computer to produce box labels and part labels.
Loading raw materials onto the press bed.
Aligning workpieces with the die for accurate shaping or cutting.
Operating the press using manual or automated controls.
Monitoring the press operation for any issues (e.g., misalignment, material defects).
Unloading finished parts safely after pressing.
Set up and operate the pad printer with the necessary image for specific parts.
Inspecting finished parts for defects, dimensions, and surface finish.
Packaging operations and functions
Following safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Inspecting tools for damaged or defective punches.
Repair damaged tools or punches as necessary.
Apply ejection materials to tools as necessary.
Recognize and report labor entry errors in ERP.
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
Detect and report defective equipment, material, and conditions that may compromise safety, quality, or customer requirements. Report all quality issues to the department supervisor.
Exercise proper care in the use of tools and equipment to ensure the safety of everyone involved.
Attend and participate in all scheduled meetings.
Register all material output and consumption data.
Track/record labor utilizing the ERP system.
Support department on-time delivery objectives.
Engage in all continuous improvement efforts
All other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Ability to follow instructions and operate independently
3. Ability to use required tools (knife, square, straight edge, etc)
Preferred Qualifications:
1. 1-2 years of die-cutting work experience preferred
Environment and Physical Demands:
Work Environment:Warehouse environment - active floor, frequent movement, and noise
Physical Demands: Medium Activity - standing for prolonged periods of time and ability to lift up to 50lbs
