Position is located with PINECREST SUPPORTS & SERVICES CENTER.
Location: LDH Employment Services (Car Wash)
SHIFT: 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM PASS DAYS: Sat. / Sun.

Developmentalist: $12.25 Hourly - $22.05 Hourly

This position may be filled by Detail,Probation,Promotion, Demotion, or Lateral Transfer. Preference may be given to permanent classified employees of Pinecrest Supports and Services Center.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Two years of experience in the care, guidance, or education of a group of educable children or adults, such as normal, developmentally disabled, or physically handicapped.

SUBSTITUTIONS:
College training will substitute for the required experience on the basis of thirty semester hours for one year of experience.

NOTE:

Any college hours or degree must be from an accredited college or university.

Job Concepts

Function of Work:
To conduct evaluation and training programs for mentally retarded students.

Level of Work:
Experienced.

Supervision Received:
Close from a Habilitation Instructor or other professional.

Supervision Exercised:
None.

Location of Work:
Department of Health and Human Resources; Office of Mental Retardation/Developmental Disabilities.

Job Distinctions:
Differs from the Habilitation Aide by the responsibility for instruction of clients.

Differs from the Habilitation Instructor by the lack of professional level responsibilities.

Examples of Work

Plans activities for all handicapped classes (emotional, visual, mental, physical or cognitive).

Instructs clients in such activities, physical education, cognitive skills, and homemaking as established in habilitation plan.

In accordance with licensing requirements, maintains appropriate records relative to student progress.

Evaluates student skill level and sets objectives, monitoring achievement of progress.
