As a nationally accredited nonprofit, we are dedicated to helping children and adults build greater independence, self-sufficiency, and community involvement. We are looking for a Developmental Specialist who will play a key role in creating meaningful opportunities for growth and independence for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Developmental Specialist (DS) will work the team developing and coordinating plans for developmental services tailored to the interests, strengths, and needs of people who are cognitively, behaviorally and/or physically disabled.
Coordinate and deliver services tailored to individual program plans and community partners.
Supervise, train, and guide staff to effectively support participants in achieving their individual goals.
Champion participant rights, independence, and inclusion.
Administer and interpret appropriate assessment instruments to determine participant skill level and needs and to determine long- and short-term plan objectives.
Develop creative curriculum and activities to support skill-building.
Supervise, train, and guide staff toward acheiving their personal goals.
Partner with families, targeted service agencies, brockers, etc.
Assure all participants meet program requirements.
Assure training progress is documented and advancement monitored.
Serve as program advocate and integrate program activities with other service providers.
Observe Direct Support Professionals monthly; conduct staff evaluations annually.
Monitors adherence to Health & Welfare rules, CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) standards and corporate policies and procedures.

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Application Question(s):
Minimum of 240 hours of professionally supervised experience with individuals who have developmental disability.
Bachelor's in special education, early childhood special education, speech and language pathology, applied behavioral analysis, psychology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, or therapeutic recreation.
