Development Services Tech III is an essential part of the Real Property Services division. This position provides day-to-day leadership and works with staff to ensure a high-performance, customer service-oriented work environment.

What you'll get to do:



Lead

and participate in the work of technical and administrative personnel in the performance of technical, development review, and permit processing functions and administrative work.

Engage

with the community, including residents, property owners, business owners, and community-based organizations.

Coordinate

various stages of the permitting process.

Explain

the City's processes, codes, and procedures.

Respond

to customer and public inquiries and complaints; explain and interpret codes, policies, standards, fees, and procedures to the public. Our Development Services Technician III team leaders may be assigned as the "single point of contact" on high-profile initiatives, requiring public speaking and coordination of multiple city codes as it pertains to that assignment.

Oversee

the processing of applications for permits, inspections, or services; oversee permit issuance.

Sustain

a culture of safety, organizational excellence, stewardship, and professionalism

A

n Ideal Candidate will have at least 5 years of professional engineering experience specializing in traffic design and operations, and 2 years of experience directing/planning the work of staff.

Experience

The City of Portland is covered by the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Your salary is determined based on the experience listed in your resume that is directly related and equivalent to the position for which you are applying.
