NextStep Kansas City seeks a highly organized and motivated Development Coordinator to drive the success of our fundraising initiatives. This role is pivotal in managing donor relationships and executing, ensuring the financial health of our paralysis recovery center.
The Development Coordinator will dedicate approximately
80% of their time
to managing entry-to-mid-level donor engagement ($0-$5,000), ensuring database integrity, mass donor recruitment campaigns, and assisting with annual special events. The remaining
20% of their time
will be focused on assisting the Executive Director with high-level strategic donor objectives, including prospect research and pipeline management.
Assist with the coordination, and execution of annual fundraising events (galas, golf tournaments, etc.), managing logistics, vendors, and budgets to ensure revenue goals are met.
Grassroots Initiatives:
Develop and manage community fundraising segments, including monthly giving programs and Peer-to-Peer fundraising campaigns, etc.
New Donor Acquisition:
Identify tools and strategies to connect with fresh audiences and potential supporters to build a new community of donors.
Executive Support & Major Gifts (Approx. 20%)
Prospect Research:
Aggressively collect and input prospective donor information, conducting research to support the portfolio of the Executive Director, and Board of Directors.
Strategic Collaboration:
Collaborate with the Executive Director on major-donor cultivation strategies and provide support in preparing for solicitations, and in-home donor events with select board members.
Data Analysis:
Assist the Executive Director in tracking and analyzing giving data to make informed decisions regarding donor engagement opportunities.
2-3 years of relevant professional experience with knowledge of development strategy.
Technical Skills:
Solid understanding of CRM software and digital marketing/communication systems. Experience with Greater Giving, and Bloomerang, platforms is preferred, but not required.
Key Competencies:
Proven success in increasing individual giving and achieving revenue targets.
Ability to read and interpret financial documents like 990s and operating budgets.
Self-starter who works well independently (remote) and takes initiative.
Ability to travel locally within the Kansas City Metro area as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
