Job Description

The Neosho County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications for the open position of Detention Officer. This position works 12-hour shift 7/14 days. Detention officers must be at least 18 years of age, have a High School diploma or G.E.D, and a valid driver's license. Pay starts at $17.00 plus a $1.00 night shift differential.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have an interest in the criminal justice field. No experience is necessary as we provide an on-the-job training program that includes data entry, operations of computerized safety and security systems, CPR/FA/AED, defense tactics, inmate handling and transport. Duties include booking detainees in/out, fingerprinting, operating computerized control systems for movements within the facility, transporting inmate to and from other facilities, court, dr. appts, etc.
